Today I baked oatmeal chocolate chip cookies with PoshJosh. Let me tell you how it all came about. The Foodbay TV team got in touch with me about cooking a couple of things with Posh Josh. I remembered watching a video of a little guy singing a Yoruba lullaby to his newborn baby brother. That video went viral. So many shared it as it was so heartwarming and sweet. It was also impressive to see a young lad growing up in the UK connecting with his cultural heritage through language.
Coming up with what to bake was easy. By that time I was 18 months into my accidental venture of becoming a baker in Lagos. I baked anything from pumpkin pies, cherry pies, mince pies, apple crumbles and cookies. And that isn’t all I did. But when thinking about what might be visually appealing to the filming crew, and quick, the oatmeal chocolate chip cookies were at the top of my list. I have gained a bit of filming experience over the years and let me tell you, doing twenty-seven hundred and something takes with young kids… or grown-ups is not child’s play.
